Rent Invoice Template

A rent invoice asks a tenant for the rent that is due. Fill it in below and download the PDF.

What a rent invoice shows

  • The property address
  • The period the rent covers
  • The rent, and any separate charges such as utilities
  • The due date and how to pay
  • The tenant's name and your own

Invoice or receipt?

The invoice asks for rent. When it is paid, give a receipt: the rent receipt template is made for that.

Questions

Do landlords have to send rent invoices?
Not always. Some leases say rent is due on a fixed date with no reminder. A written invoice still helps both sides keep a record.
Can I add a late fee?
Only if the lease allows it and local law permits it; some places cap late fees or require a grace period. See late payment fees.
