Contractor Quote Template
A contractor quote tells the client what a job will cost and what it covers. Fill it in below and download the PDF.
What a contractor quote needs
- The job and the site, described plainly
- Labor, materials and any subcontractors, priced separately
- What is not included, so extras are priced on their own
- A start date, a time to finish and how long the price holds
- Payment stages and who signs off each one
Keep scope and price together
A common cause of disputes is unclear scope. Say what the price buys, and how a change will be agreed in writing. For bigger jobs a statement of work goes into more detail.
Questions
- Should a contractor quote include materials?
- Yes, as separate lines, or say clearly that the client supplies them.
- What happens after the client accepts?
- You invoice by stage or at the end; see quote vs invoice.
