A receipt has seven parts
- Receipt number and date
- Seller's name and contact
- Buyer's name
- What was bought
- Amount paid and method
- Any tax, shown separately
- Balance still owed, for a part payment
Three finished examples
- A service: Receipt R-0107, 3 March. Received from Babbage and Co: 500 for logo design, by bank transfer. Balance owed: 0.
- A product with tax: Receipt R-0108. 2 desk lamps at 40, 80, tax at an example rate of 10 percent, 8. Total paid 88 by card.
- A part payment: Receipt R-0109. Deposit of 200 received on a 600 job, by cash. Balance owed: 400.
