Calculators / VAT
VAT calculator
Enter a price and the VAT rate that applies to you. The calculator does the arithmetic; it does not know any rates.
Answer
Enter the price to see the answer.
How it works
Adding VAT: VAT = price x rate / 100, and the total is the price plus the VAT.
When the price already includes VAT: the price without VAT = price / (1 + rate / 100), and the VAT is the difference.

Questions
- What VAT rate should I use?
- The one that applies to your sale. It depends on the country and on what you sell. The VAT and GST rates pages list rates by country, and your tax office has the final word.
- How do I show VAT on an invoice?
- As its own line with the rate, so the client can see it. See what to put on an invoice.
