Free invoice template for handymen
Handyman jobs are many small tasks in one visit. An invoice that lists each task with its time or price shows the customer where the hours went and why the total is what it is.

These are examples of how to word lines, not prices. Use your own rates.

What to put on a handyman work invoice
- The address and the date of the visit
- Each task completed
- Hours and rate, or the price per task
- Materials bought
- Any follow-up work that is still to do
For the basics every invoice needs, see what to put on an invoice.
Payment terms
Most handyman customers pay on the day or within a week. Net 7 or due on receipt, printed on the invoice, sets the expectation.
Type Net 30 (or Net 7, Net 15) in the Payment terms box and the due date fills in. Payment terms explained.
Questions
- Should I list every small task?
- Yes, briefly. A customer who sees a list of what was done is far less likely to question the total than one who sees a single lump sum.
- How do I add a first-time customer discount?
- Use the Discount line, so the full price and the discount both show on the invoice.
