Free Work Order Generator
A work order tells someone what job to do, where and when. Fill it in and download the PDF. Nothing is sent to us.
How to make one
- Add your details and the customer's.
- Put the job location in the Work location box.
- List the work to do, with hours or quantities and any price.
- Set the date it is scheduled for and download the PDF.
When to use one
Use a work order to record a job before it starts, so everyone knows what was asked for, where and when. Add prices if the customer needs to approve the cost.
Not sure which you need? Invoice, receipt, quote and estimate: the difference.
What to include
- Your details and the customer's
- Where the work is to be done
- A clear description of each task
- The date it is scheduled for
- Any prices or limits the customer agreed
Questions
- Do a work order and a quote differ?
- A quote states a price before the customer agrees. A work order instructs the work, often after a quote has been accepted.
- Do I need to show prices on a work order?
- Not always. Show them if the customer needs to approve the cost; leave them at zero if the order only describes the work.
