Free Estimate Generator

An estimate is your best guess at what work will cost. Fill it in, download the PDF and send it. Nothing is sent to us.

How to make one

  1. Add your details and the customer's.
  2. List the work with your expected quantity and price.
  3. Add tax or a discount if they apply.
  4. State what could change the price, and download the PDF.

When to use one

Send an estimate when the final cost depends on things you cannot know yet. Say plainly what could make it go up or down.

Not sure which you need? Invoice, receipt, quote and estimate: the difference.

What to include

  • Your details and the customer's
  • What the work involves
  • Your expected price for each part
  • What could change the final price
  • What happens next if they accept

Questions

What is the difference between an estimate and a quote?
An estimate is an approximation that can change. A quote is a price you commit to.
Can the final bill be higher than the estimate?
It can be, if the work turned out bigger than expected. Telling the customer as soon as you know, and in writing, avoids disputes.
